Moby Profile
Real Name "Richard Melville Hall"

One of electronic music's most visible and talked-about figures, Moby's career comprises many years
of work and many musical twists and turns. His career stretches all the way back to early rave and
acid-house releases in the late 80s and early 90s as U.H.F. and Voodoo Child, through to his much
loved/hated R&B/blues/pop/techno sample cut-ups of today.
His most notable tracks from his early days include "Next Is The E", "Everytime You Touch Me" and
"Into The Blue", and the classic "Go", as well as his early albums "Ambient" and "Early Underground".
A brief outing into more rock-oriented territory came with 1996's "Animal Rights", followed by
"I Like To Score" in 1997, highlighting his past movie score contributions
(most notably a remix of the "James Bond Theme").
In 1999 and 2000, Moby found unprecedented pop success with the album "Play" and the slew of singles
and radio tracks that came from it ("Honey", "Run On", "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?", "Natural Blues",
"Porcelain", "Southside", and more). Among other things, his appearance as a DJ in the foyer of the 2000
MTV Video Music Awards (wearing a gold suit and playing two golden copies of "Play") led many people to decry him as a sellout.
Nonetheless, his follow-up album "18" tinkered very little with the "Play" sound and still received a mostly positive reception in 2002.
Besides the many faces of his music, Moby also gathers controversy for his outspoken religious, dietary and animal rights views, as well as persistent rumors that his live shows are mostly pre-recorded.

Every Moby release from the mid-90s onward has borne the text
"Animals are not ours to eat, wear or experiment on. Thanks to Christ."

Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards Profile:

Bernard Edwards' supple, big-bottom basslines powered platinum hits by Chic, the '70s dance/pop
band that he co-founded with guitarist/songwriter/producer Nile Rodgers. The group scored three
gold singles and one platinum single including two number one pop/R&B singles, "Le Freak" and
"Good Times"; two platinum albums, C'est Chic and Risque; and one gold album, Chic. A Chic live
recording, Live at the Budokan, was released February 23, 1999, through Rodgers' Sumthing Distribution.
The bassist co-wrote and produced all of Chic's records as well as those the duo produced for Diana Ross,
Sister Sledge, and others.
Edwards later produced and played in '80s supergroup Power Station ("Some Like It Hot"); produced ABC's
"When Smokey Sings," Ross' "Telephone," and Rod Stewart; and played bass on the Rodgers-produced Madonna
LP Like a Virgin and Jody Watley's "Don't You Want Me."
By the mid-'80s, the duo was no longer producing together exclusively. Tiring of their rigorous production
and touring schedule, Chic disbanded with Take It Off (1981, "Stage Fright") and the 1982 LPs Tongue in Chic
("Hangin'") and Believer being their last albums for Atlantic.
Both men embarked on illustrious production careers: Rodgers had hits with David Bowie
(the number one gold single "Let's Dance," "China Girl"), Madonna (the nine-million selling LP Like a Virgin,
with the number one title track single and the Top Five hits "Material Girl," "Angel," and "Dress You Up"),
and the System ("Comin' to America") while Edwards recorded with ABC, Rod Stewart, Power Station, Starpoint,
Missing Persons, and Nona Hendryx, among others. Rodgers and Edwards reunited
for a 1992 Chic LP, Chic-ism
("Give Me the Lovin'," "Chic Mystique") for Warner Bros. Records.

At the age of 43, Bernard Edwards died of pneumonia
while touring with Chic in Tokyo, Japan, on April 18, 1996.

DIVINE - Jungle Jezebel (Album) 1982 hi-nrg electro disco 80s

Harris Glenn Milstead, also known by his stage name as Divine (October 19, 1945 – March 7, 1988), was an American actor, singer and drag queen. Associated with independent filmmaker John Waters, he was a character actor, usually performing female roles in cinematic and theatrical appearances, and adopted a female drag persona for his music career; People magazine described him as the "Drag Queen of the Century".[1]
Born in Maryland to a conservative, middle-class family, he embraced the counterculture of the 1960s and became involved with Waters's acting troupe, the Dreamlanders, starring in early Waters films Mondo Trasho (1969), Multiple Maniacs (1970), Pink Flamingos (1972) and Female Trouble (1974). Hits on the U.S. midnight movie circuit, the films became cult classics. In the 1970s, Divine moved to theater, appearing with The Cockettes before performing in Women Behind Bars and The Neon Woman. Continuing cinematic work, he starred in Polyester (1981), Lust in the Dust (1985) and Hairspray (1988). In 1981, Divine embarked in the disco industry, producing Hi-NRG tracks that were mostly written by Bobby Orlando. He achieved global chart success with hits like "You Think You're a Man", "I'm So Beautiful" and "Walk Like a Man".
Although Divine died in Los Angeles, California from cardiomegaly in 1988, he has remained a cult figure ever since, particularly within the LGBT community, and has provided the inspiration for fictional characters, artworks and songs. Various books and documentary films devoted to his life have also been produced, including Divine Trash (1998) and I Am Divine (2013).
