Clash Of Cultures - The Rise Of The New Electro Scene

ELECTRO-CLASH

Clash Of Cultures
The Rise Of the New Electro Scene 🎶

[Full Length Electronic Dance Music Documentary] 2002

Since "New York City" Major Rudolph Giuliani applied his quality of life project in the late 1990s, New York nightlife suffered its worst attack in years. It was the end of the big clubs and a period marked by the saturation of musical genres known for mainstream like House, Techno and Drum'n'Bass.
It was then that the Electro scene came to put the city back to cultural maps again. "Clash of Cultures" - The Rise of the New Electro Scene narrates chronologically; through performances and interviews, as New York has regained its trend-setting center position. Besides New York, the Electroclash scene had cult nightlife club following in London (Ghetto/Cock/Nag Nag Nag/Kashpoint), Germany (Berlin), Spain, Brazil, Australia.
This documentary is an analysis of how the musical genres of the 80's came back associated with the fashion scene and became known with the controversial electroclash nickname.

Artists such as Fischerspooner, Peaches, Miss Kittin, Ladytron, Scissor Sisters, Larry Tee and Crème Blush, among others, have dissected the excess, excitement, sexual tension and controversy of the Electro international scene.

This documentary contains interviews with DJs, artists, producers, journalists, fashion designers and other professionals involved in the scene; filming of the 2002 Electroclash festival and related events that took place in New York City at the end of 2002; as well as video clips of the artists.
Clash of Cultures also covers topics such as the influence of punk in this scene, the importance of image and style; the production of music; influence on DJ culture; attitude and personalities; the sense of the letters; the future potential of the market and the coverage of the mainstream.
