"Hi NRG Italo Disco Eurobeat inspired synthpop from Durban's own Mike Durandt, it follows the tried and tested formula of potent synths and sultry, effeminate vocals over uptempo rhythms that conjure images of sweaty aerobics studios and suburban discos. It's either generic or timeless, depending on your memories of the era. This is the original South African 12'' Maxi release, with the Italo Disco sleaze bootleg 12'' mix, + both mixes (sides A & B) from the original S.A. 7'' single release.  Later also released in Canada on Power Records."

๐Ÿ”บ Bill Grainger is known for bringing HI NRG music to Scotland through his legendary Fire Island Club in Edinburgh in the 1980’s and his long running HI NRG show on Radio Clyde (Glasgow & Central Scotland) during the same period. He has worked with Simon Cowell, Eartha Kitt, Evelyn Thomas, Village People, Hazell Dean, Sinitta and many more. he also worked with Record Shack Records and managed Seventh Avenue who later became Big Fun (best remembered for their hit single Blame It On The Boogie). He also toured with The Hitman & Her show with Pete Waterman, Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan. He then went on to launch CLUBSCENE RECORDS and ACADEMY STREET RECORDS.
๐Ÿ”บ Divine (performer) ๐Ÿ‘  Artist info: ✨ (R.I.P)
Harris Glenn Milstead (October 19, 1945 – March 7, 1988), better known by his stage name Divine, was an American actor, singer, and drag queen. Closely associated with the independent filmmaker John Waters, Divine was a character actor, usually performing female roles in cinematic and theatrical productions, and adopted a female drag persona for his music career. After starring as the lead role in Waters' next film, Female Trouble (1974), Divine moved on to theatre, appearing in several avant-garde performances alongside San Francisco drag collective, The Cockettes. He followed this with a performance in Tom Eyen's play Women Behind Bars and its sequel, The Neon Woman. Continuing his cinematic work, he starred in two more of Waters' films, Polyester (1981) and Hairspray (1988), the latter of which represented his breakthrough into mainstream cinema and for which he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male. Independent of Waters, he also appeared in a number of other films, such as Lust in the Dust (1985) and Trouble in Mind (1985), seeking to diversify his repertoire by playing male roles. In 1981, Divine embarked on a career in the disco industry by producing a number of Hi-NRG tracks, most of which were written by Bobby Orlando. He achieved international chart success with hits like "You Think You're a Man", "I'm So Beautiful", and "Walk Like a Man", all of which were performed in drag. Having struggled with obesity throughout his life, he died from cardiomegaly, shortly after the release of Hairspray. Described by People magazine as the "Drag Queen of the Century", Divine has remained a cult figure, particularly within the LGBT community, and has provided the inspiration for fictional characters, artworks, and songs. Various books and documentary films devoted to his life have also been produced, including Divine Trash (1998) and I Am Divine (2013).

๐Ÿ“– Song Lyrics - "Just Another Broken Heart" ๐Ÿ’” (DOROTHY MOORE)

Who rewrote the age-old story
Seems you knew the lines before
He came along to be your leading man.

Cast again as femme-fatale,
You're left without a curtain call
Waiting in the wings where you came in.

He was all you ever wanted
A sense of style, a taste for drama
Each of you stayed true to character.

Caught up in your own performance
Never read the subtle warnings
'til the moment you became aware

That it's

Just another broken Heart
Another minor tragedy
In which you played a major part

And if the footlights finally fade
The saddest scene has played.
And like the shadow in the dark you're left with

Just another broken heart

Just another Broken Heart

Now you wonder what it was
That turned the glitter into dust
And why this stage is always where you are

Here is where the actress cries
Left alone to realise
The script was merely written by the star

And it's

Just another broken,
Just another broken heart
Another minor tragedy
In which you played a major part

And if the footlights finally fade
The saddest scene has played
And like the shadow in the dark you're left with
Just another broken heart
Another broken heart
Another broken heart.

Cafรฉ Society, a mostly studio band, were a successful South African dance act of the mid-80s.

The band was the brainwave of multi-instrumentalist/singer and producer Costa Anadiotis, formerly of "Fantasy", the late 70s disco rock band.

The first song to be produced was a cover of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" in 1984, using the vocals of Julia Jade Aston.

The song was received well internationally (released worldwide by Passion Records UK) because of its Hi-NRG-driven baseline popular at the time.

The band and their S.A. record company wanted the next release to be an original composition, "I'm On The Loose".

Passion Records UK wanted another dance hit cover, and went with "Relight My Fire"

("I'm On The Loose" was not released)

The Dan Hartman song "Relight My Fire", which utilized the vocals of Lolly Peterson and Anneline Malebo.

Released in the UK, Germany, Mexico and S.A. Other than being a dance hit in Mexico, the song received mediocre response, but featured worldwide on many compilation albums,

Then in 1985 when the Video Kids refused to release their song "Woodpeckers From Space" in South Africa due to the political situation in the country at the time,

Costa Anadiotis decided to release his own unique version under the banner of Cafรฉ Society.

"Woodpeckers from Space" was a Number 1 hit in South Africa in July 1985 and stayed on the Top 20 for 19 weeks, 8 of which were at the Number 1 position.

Cafรฉ Society released only one album, “Relight My Fire”, in 1985.

The Extended Vocal version of "I'm On The Loose" was included on this album, and features Penny Lane on vocals.

2020 (35 years later...)

So for the first time in 35 Years, here is the ORIGINAL 12'' Vocal and Dub mix parts together for this unreleased electro Hi-nrg Italo disco "Hard-To-Find" gem ๐Ÿ’Ž

๐Ÿ“– Song Lyrics - Cafรฉ Society - I'm On The Loose

Now..That the Week has reached the end
I'm ready for action
Now..That the Weekend is at hand
I need
satisfaction

I work hard all day
I'm on my way
I'm gonna have some fun (fun fun)

CHORUS

'Cos I'm On The Loose
I'm On The Loose
I'm On The Loose Tonight
Take Me To The Neon Light

Yes, I'm On The Move
I'm On The Loose Tonight
Take Me To The Neon Light

I'll never be the one they call 'Society Lady'
I'm.. not a ashamed to be sometimes
Just kind of crazy

And I know somewhere
You're waiting there
Waiting Just For Me! (me me)

CHORUS x2

(INSTRUMENTAL BREAKDOWN)

I.. wanna dance the night away
My Music's inside me
I'm.. gonna wipe out clouds of grey
With You Beside Me

'Cos I know somewhere
You're waiting there
Waiting Just For Me! (me me)

CHORUS x2

I was standing back to wait
for some reaction
I'm gonna go for it right now
I need satisfaction

I work hard all day
I'm on my way
I'm gonna have some fun (fun fun)

๐Ÿ“–Lyrics "I'm A Man"  (originally sung by The Spencer Davis Group)

Well my pad is very messy, got whiskers on my chin
Never had no problems 'cause I've always paid the rent
I got no time for lovin'
Cause my time is all used up
I stand outside creatin'
All the groovy kinds of love
I'm a man, yes I am and I can't help but love you so
I'm a man, yes I am and I can't help but love you so
If I had my choice of matter
I'd would rather be with cats
All engrossed in mental chatter
Showing where your mind is at
While relating to each other
How strong the love can be
By resisting all the good times with each groovy chick we see
I'm a man yes I am and I can't help but love you so
I'm a man yes I am and I can't help but love you so
I've got to keep my image
While I'm standing on the floor
If I drop upon my knees
It's just to keep them on…

["I'm A Man" - written by Jimmy Miller & Steve Winwood]

๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“–Lyrics "Sounds So Fine"  (originally sung by Damian Davey)

When I feel low and I got not friends at all
I hit the town where I know a place to call
I join the crowd and at last I feel I'm winning...yeah
The sweat the heat and the atmosphere is spinning
And I am winning, and I am spinning, and winning

CHORUS
Sounds So Fine (you at ......)

You got a friend and the music all around
and feel the beat you are swaying with the sound
with no more blues is the perfect place to be...yeah
get on your feet and get down to you and me

and i am winning, and i am spinning....and winning

CHORUS x4
Sounds So Fine (you at ......)

Sounds So Fine...

(BREAK)

The sweat the heat and the atmosphere is spinning
And I am winning, and I am spinning, and winning

CHORUS x6
Sounds So Fine (you at ......)

Giorgio Moroder was a key figure in the mid-to-late-1970s Eurodisco scene, and one of real pioneers of using synthesizers in dance music. The early part of his career took place in Munich, where he made his name by discovering Donna Summer (and writing/producing the bulk of her catalogue). In the late 1970s he moved to L.A., and ended up doing a ridiculous amount of film-work. Seriously, if we're talking 80s pop trash and cheesy film soundtracks, Giorgio's name is bound to come up: he scored American GigoloScarfaceMidnight ExpressTop GunFlashdanceThe Neverending Story, and some fly-by-night B-movie fare like the horrible colorized recut of Fritz Lang's Metropolis and the Mr. T vehicle D.C. Cab. He wrote/produced "Call Me" by Blondie, "Take My Breath Away" for Berlin, "(Highway to the) Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins, almost anything you can think of by Donna Summer, and that's really just scratching the surface of the tunes he's made that everyone knows (and let's not forget, he has a HUGE catalogue of crazy underground synth disco gems on top of that).
