"In the early 90s, the dance cover re-make was super popular with the CD buying public.
People wanted their favourite pop/dance songs which they previously owned on Cassette and LP on CD format, and welcomed newer sounding 90s dance productions.
A mountain of CD dance compilations were released, with tracks licenced around the world.
You would usually find a few "stand out" playable tracks on each of these compilations, and they sold in well.
